Day 1 -the adventure begins (written by Taru Ulvi)

At Oulu airport early on Sunday morning.

Today was the first day of our trip. We woke up at 5am so we could make it to Oulu on time. Our first flight was from Oulu to Helsinki. That one was a short flight, only about an hour. Our second flight was a longer one, from Helsinki to Frankfurt. It departed at 2pm, so we had time to eat some delicious Burger King food and walk around the airport. That second flight lasted around 2 hours and most of us just slept through it. Frankfurt airport was huge! We did find some snacks to eat and our gate too. We were all joking around and being overtired at that point! Our final flight to Munster was the shortest, a little under an hour long. But the journey wasn’t over as we still had a car ride to Nordhorn ahead of us. After a much faster car ride than in Finland and after some unplanned delay we finally met our hosts. They were really kind and bought us McDonalds too. Things are still a bit awkward but we’re all excited for this week and new experiences. For now though, sleep sounds like the best thing to do!
