Day 4 Portugal

Wednesday 25th
The school started at 9.30 am. From the school we left for another school that is for 1st -4th graders. At the school the students showed us chemistry tests and we played basketball and football with them.

After the school we went to the home of the elderly people. There we were split into two groups. One group went to see two Portuguese students who were cooking a mug cake and lemon mousse and the other group went to a laughter therapy.
After the laughter therapy we went to have lunch to a restaurant called Kathy’s which was nearby. We ate black swordfish and tomato rice. Then we went back to the home of the elderly people where we watched a pantomime performance by the Portuguese students. The play showed the stages of life.
When we left the home of the elderly people we went to Cabo Espichel which is a famous cape in Setúbal. There are many legends associated with Cabo Espichel. One of them is that people had seen Virgin Maria riding on a donkey and there had been donkey’s foot prints on the ground. People believe that the foot prints are a proof that Maria was there. After Cabo Espichel the school ended and all of the students went to a hangout place in Sesimbra to play billiard and cards.
